In 2016, American Spring Wire (ASW), North America’s largest manufacturer of valve and commercial quality spring wire since 1968, and Joh. Pengg AG (Pengg), a global leading supplier of spring wire, formed an exclusive partnership. ASWPengg manufactures high quality, specialty steel wires for the North American market. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified through NSF International.
From the beginning, ASWPengg has worked hard to make customer satisfaction a company tradition. Our History:
1968 – ASW incorporated January 4 – production begins in March in 28,000 sq. ft. plant located on Northfield Rd., Bedford Hts., OH with 35 employees
1970 – Develop proprietary surface preparation method
1971 – Purchase present location on Miles Rd., Bedford Hts. 71,000 sq. ft.
1983 – Purchase German wire manufacturer, Stahldrahtwerk Rahmer GMBH, to establish a European presence
1987 – Purchase assets of Philadelphia Steel & Wire to diversify into flat rolled products
1995 – ISO-9001 Registered through NSF International – Bedford Hts. Facility
1997 – Build over 52,000 sq. ft. manufacturing space in Bedford Hts. To include R & D, additional patenting, finished goods storage, wire drawing and rolling
2016 – Create ASWPengg LLC, a partnership between ASW Corp & Joh Pengg AG, Thorl Austria
2021 – Pengg US becomes 100% owner of ASW Pengg
2021 – Recertification of ISO-9001:2015 through NSF International
